My Philosophy
In my role as Office Manager, my goal is to make the process of applying for mental health services as easy, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. I am the first point of contact for potential clients. I share information about our services, and match clients with the WPA staff member who can best meet client needs based on client preferences and therapist areas of expertise, experience, and availability. I look forward to welcoming clients with a warm greeting. Conveying kindness and caring is important to me, and is a reflection of the overall approach WPA takes with its clients.
As Office Manager, I also support WPA staff, and ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
Experience
For nearly 20 years, l served as an undergraduate academic advisor and student development counselor on the university level. During this time, I earned my M.A. in Psychology. My role in higher education shifted from academic advising to administrative positions in 2010. Most recently, I worked at Howard University as an administrative coordinator and then special assistant to the Dean, in the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA).
Overall, my roles in higher education have been student-focused as well as administrative. My interest in administrative work has continued. I retired from Howard University in December of 2023 and joined Warner Psychology Associates (WPA) in January of 2024! I am excited to fulfill a role relative to my background and experience as part-time Office Manager and newest member of the WPA staff
More Than Just My Work
Outside of work I enjoy reading (audio books are great!), yoga, music, movies, and visits to museums. My favorite food is seafood. I value spending time with family and special friends.
