Is my ADHD getting in the way of doing well in college?
I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child, but always did well in school. Now that I’m in college, I’m struggling academically. What do I need to do to keep my grades up? Do I need educational accommodations in college?
Do I need better study habits, or do I have some sort of learning disability?
I take school seriously, and spend more time than my friends studying. No matter how much I study, I still can’t seem to pull my grades up.
Do I have ADHD or is there something else happening that makes it hard to focus?
I have trouble paying attention, and can’t sit through long lecture classes. I think I have ADHD. My doctor will only give me medicine to help me focus if she’s certain it’s ADHD, and not something else like anxiety or a learning problem.
Why can’t I remember the material when I’m taking tests?
If I work hard, I can understand it. I do well on my homework, and in-class assignments, but do poorly on tests. I blank out and can’t remember what I’ve studied.
